Activity description IK4-TEKNIKER is a non-profit making Foundation renowned as a centre of Manufacturing Technologies. The preferential sectors covered include Ancillary Automotive sector, Machine-Tool and accessories, Aeronautics and outer space applications, Mechanical capital goods and Moulds and dies.
The experience of the centre in additive manufacturing relies on the Laser Metal Deposition (LMD) process, based on both powder and wire. IK4-Tekniker has developed, for more than 12 years, research projects and scientific papers related to the repair, reinforcement and manufacturing of structures and components for different industrial sectors. The study of the LMD process is complementary to the development of in situ control techniques and the development of specific LMD equipment (laser heads and machinery).
